WHAT YOU CAN SEE AT THE MUSEUM, OPENING TIMES and MAP

On display are the artefacts and stories that make up the history of Bridport and the surrounding areas in West Dorset. Bridport's history is chronicled over the past 2000 years. Roman artefacts from Waddon Hill, Bridport's famous rope and net making past, the Bridport Railway, Ship building and Fishing industries, and the local characters of times past who helped shaped and developed our town over time.

Guided tours are provided at special times throughout the summer season.

The Museum Shop sells an assortment of quality postcards, local history pamphlets and books, copies of photographs from the Museum's collection, replica items, souvenirs, and toys.

The Local History Centre holds a mountain of information and material for people undertaking genealogy research or local history studies. Everyone is welcome to come and undertake their personal research.
