GEOLOGY

This collection numbers several hundred specimens, the majority of which were collected locally between Lyme Regis and Burton Bradstock. The Hansford Collection forms a significant part of this collection. The collection illustrates the make-up of the local landscape - including its rich mineral deposits - and some of the earliest types of animals (mainly invertebrates) and plants found in the West Dorset area.
