INDUSTRY (NON-ROPE AND NET MAKING)

The objects in this collection principally cover the three main industries (other than Rope and Net making) upon which the growth of Bridport was based in the nineteenth century (Mills, Foundries, Tanneries, and the Bridport Railway). A wide range of other local nineteenth and twentieth century industries are also represented (e.g. Shipbuilding and Fishing at West Bay)
