SOCIAL HISTORY

This collection includes all the other material that does not sit in the above categories, making it the largest collection held by the Bridport Museum. It includes special collections such as that relating to Dr Giles Roberts, a local apothecary and pharmacist.
This extensive collection represents the development of Bridport as a community and much of it dates to the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The material crosses a broad range of subjects and issues, and is especially strong in its coverage of shops and trades, household items, healthcare, entertainment, and education.
