Access information

We want everyone to be able to enjoy visiting Bridport Museum.  Our amazing displays are housed within an old building, but we have done our best to modernise amenities and we have audio-visual and sensory displays. The museum also includes the  accessibility features outlined below.

Getting in

The main entrances to both the Museum and Local History Centre are easy level access for wheelchair users and pushchairs.

Carers

If you require a carer to facilitate your visit, one carer will be admitted free of charge.

You may be asked to present evidence to a member of staff on arrival (e.g. DLA or PIP letter, GP letter or similar).

Assistance Dogs

Accredited assistance dogs are welcome at the Museum.

Wheelchair access on site

There is level access on each floor with ample space to manoeuvre between displays. There are no doors between galleries to open.

There is an accessible lift to the first floor.

The Local History Centre is all at ground floor level.

Accessible toilet

There is an accessible toilet on the ground floor of both the Museum and Local History Centre.

Babies

There are baby changing facilities in the accessible toilet, and space to park buggies.
