Bridport’s History at Home

Bridport's History at Home

We are combatting the lockdown blues by looking back this Winter and sharing some quirky snippets of the town’s history online as reported years ago in the Bridport News.

Lots of people have been reminiscing about the long queues outside George’s bakery which used to be on East Street: with a favourite bake being their enormous ‘Jammy Men’!

We can’t wait to be allowed to reopen our doors, but once again, we’re continuing to bring your town’s history to you- and from the comfort of your armchair you can join in with the reminiscing, or simply browse our photograph collection on Flickr.

Our volunteers have been busy researching too, and there are a wealth of stories to read about here.
